One more

Here's just one more pic to add. Notice the distance Tucker is keeping from us. This is pretty normal for him. We have to really coax him to get closer. Oh and please don't judge me for my dead mums... we had a rough October. It makes the decorations a little spookier... right?

P.S. I just now noticed I was still wearing my slippers. Why didn't Jim tell me this?

The cutest little pumpkin

I know, I know... Im in big trouble for not posting these pictures sooner, but more little Maddie had a rough day because she had a few vaccinations this morning at her two month appointment. She's needed to be in some ones arms all day. I'll post more about that later.

So I felt guilty around 2pm on Halloween day because I hadn't gotten Maddie a costume (well, I did but it was too big and I brought it back). It was her very first Halloween and I felt like she needed to be dressed up like SOMETHING, right? So I picked up a pumpkin costume at the very last minute that actually fit her. It wasn't the cutest pumpkin outfit I had seen- but it worked and she looked darn cute in it. We got her dressed up and snapped a few pics. Thank goodness we did because she didn't stay awake for long. I think she was warm and cozy in that costume.

Baby's First Halloween!
Alright Daddy... let's go trick or treating.

Walking up the street to visit the neighbors... still awake!

And... now she's out. She was awake for about 2 minutes once we got inside

Here's our little neighbor Sophia. She's 6 months old. She and Maddie will be great friends.

Some one knows how to stay awake for trick or treat! Maybe next year Maddie will enjoy it a bit more.

Happy Halloween!

Maddie says Happy Halloween!! This was her daytime outfit. She's taking a power nap now and resting up for tonight (let's hope she doesn't sleep thru it!) More pics to come.

Magic Mobile

Those people who make baby toys and gear don't fool around. Madelyn was fussy so I decided to set up her mobile and attach it to the crib. Just for fun I thought Id set her in her crib for a minute and see if she'd even notice it was there. As soon as I turned on the music - she stopped crying and was completely mesmerized by the moving parts (I can't even call them anything because Im not sure what they are... animals I guess? Its a crazy mobile). She lasted in her crib like that for about 15 minutes. Im shocked. I love the last picture - can't you just see the intensity in those eyes?

P.S. Please don't mind the outfit. I ran a few errands and came home to her wearing this. She had a diaper blowout in her pretty new outfit (shhh... don't tell Nana) and Daddy had to redress. Its not that it doesnt match but ummm.... it doesnt exactly GO (ladies, you know what I mean). He thought she needed to break in her Duke sweatshirt before the big game on Saturday.

The Perfect Fall Day in North Georgia

What a fine looking crew this is! We had such a great day up in North Georgia. This picture was taken in front of the Smith House in Dahlonega, GA where we had all you can eat homestyle country cookin'. Yum. After that we headed out to Bert's Pumpkin Patch for a hayride and to pick pumpkins. Enjoy the pics! T

She's Almost Got It!

She's almost found that thumb! I think we're destined to have a thumbsucker. Thats okay by me - self soothing here we come! No more getting up 10 times a night to put that pacifier back in her mouth.

And for those of you concerned that Tuckers not getting the attention he once was well... you're probably right. However, he's making the most of it by putting on the most pathetic face he has and begging for treats constantly. After shooting this video of Madelyn, I turned around to see this. He must get this bone filled up with treats at least 8-10 times a day. Don't worry too much about him. He knows how to work it.

Oh - and here's his other source of treats. He's never too far from his treat ball either.

Still Being Showered!

Sorry I have no pics for this post... but Maddie took her first trip to my office for a post-baby Baby Shower. They had wanted to throw us one in August but our schedules all conflicted so we decided to wait til things calmed down after I had the baby. It worked out well because I was able to bring Maddie into the office and everyone loved meeting her. Like Sunday- she was passed around and passed around the entire time we were there and she loved it. She took it like a champ and was alert and peaceful. The only time she made a peep was when it was time to eat. After a bottle, she went right back to sleep.

My colleagues were so generous showering us with clothes and diapers (Size 2... phew) and all the essentials. We even had a beautiful cake that was in the shape of a big pink baby carriage and big "Its a Girl" balloons!!!

While I was there I also spoke with my boss about when I was going to come back and if I could come back part-time (I am extending my 90 day leave by 30 days). He was agreeable and actually said he had a feeling I was going to come back part-time. I asked him why and he said - "Well, if I had a baby... I wouldnt want to come back to work!" What a guy. I wish all men were that respectful of mothers and the importance of family. So, Im really pleased about the work situation. I never thought there would really be an issue with coming back part-time but until its official you just never know. Let's just hope the next 2 months go by VERRRYYY SLLOWWWWW.

Caught Mid-Kiss

Tuckers finally starting to warm up to little Maddie. If we coax him he'll give her one quick kiss on the cheek or on the hand and then jump down as quickly as possible. He's a funny one. I think once she starts dropping Cheerios and other things he'll start to realize she's not so bad to be around.

Our first trip to church...

And it was a success! We had been wanting to go back to church for weeks now but were nervous Miss M would have a meltdown in the middle of the service - but we decided this was the week we were going to give it a try. Im glad we did because she did GREAT! She slept in her carseat for most of the service and only opened her eyes for an occasional stare at the big chandeliers overhead. Phew. We were holding our breaths the entire time.

After the service our church had a harvest celebration (I had no idea... Im not even really sure what that means but we did get free BBQ and chocolate chip cookies). It was nice to catch up with our friends that we feel like we haven't spent time with in awhile... but it was also nice to get some free daycare. No- I dont mean the church nursery... I mean all the women who love babies and can't resist holding them. She got passed from one woman to the next and even had a turn with the pastor (who is also a woman). It was great! For about an hour - Jim and I were handsfree! I was tempted to go out and run some errands. ;)
