snow day!

We were welcomed to North Carolina this week with a snow storm! We knew it was coming (how can you not with weathermen these days) so we were well stocked with cold weather rations and I even bought Maddie some boots (since she didnt have any living in Atlanta) in preparation.

Our house

We bundled the girls up and braved the cold. It was really cold. Like 18 degrees cold.

Caroline says, "say what?"

Maddie wasn't quite sure what to make of it. If you know Maddie, you know she's a little timid in general so she wasn't too fond of not being able to walk in the stuff and being cold on top of it.

Maddie played for a little bit, but I'll be honest- it took us a lot longer to get ready to go outside than the time we actually spent outside. I can't say I blame Maddie though, it was too cold for me too.

One person (because you know he considers himself one) who did enjoy the snow? Tucker. This picture below is a crappy one of the house because I had it on an indoor setting- but I had to include it to show you the blur of fur that is Tucker sprinting through the front yard. He got the crazies as soon as we let him out. Im glad some one enjoyed it!

We had a few exciting events this week which include a big-girl bed that I'll post about soon.

baby caroline is 3 months old!

Our sweet baby girl is 3 months old! She's such an angel. She's so smiley and coos and talks now.

Not sure how much she weighs or her length because she hasnt been weighed recently, but she's getting bigger, thats for sure. She's got nice chunky legs like her big sister had.

She lifts her head up really well and is thinking about rolling over, but not quite there yet.

She has yet to sleep through the night, and is still up every 2-3 hours to eat at night so... yeah, Im pretty tired. I could use a spa weekend. :) HA, yeah I know, 18 years from now... right?

move in day!

FInally getting around to uploading pictures from my camera. This week has been crazy, to put it mildly. Lots and lots to do and the days seem to be getting shorter and shorter. I either need about 8 more hours in a day, or a mini-me. If you can get me either one, let me know.

Here are a few pictures from move-in day. Just a few... I was busy taking care of Caroline and directing the men with the big heavy furniture.

Caroline checking out her room. You know I can't wait to paint that ugly blue color.

Maddie checking out her chalkboard to make sure it works.

Tent (or castle as she calls it) time after a bath.

We're all adjusting to our new home. Tuckers not sure where to go... upstairs, downstairs... he's doing his best to keep an eye on everyone. He's actually taken a liking to the front bedroom. When we can't find him, he's usually in there by himself. I guess he's just needing some quiet time.

More pictures are on their way.

house is sold!

Great news!

We just went under contract this morning with our Decatur house.... so we only owned two houses for a few days. Woo hoo!

We're currently trying to figure out how we'll negotiate getting back down to ATL with the kids but we'll manage. We've managed everything else in this crazy process somehow!

I promise, I'll take some time to upload pictures soon.

we made it to NC!

We successfully packed up 8 years of our lives in Atlanta and moved our existence 6 hours north to North Carolina. We made it in one piece and are eyeballs deep in boxes at our new house.

We miss our friends and church in Decatur already, but in the 24 hours we've been in our house, we've had multiple neighbors stop by and introduce themselves, one even bringing a plate of hot chocolate chip cookies! Not bad. We definitely feel welcome.

Maddie had an absolute blast with Grammie and Grandad on Friday. She keeps them very busy and doesn't let them out of her sight for too long. She was really upset when they had to leave to go home Friday night. Although it was sad that she was so upset - its so nice to see how much she enjoys being with them. And today she spent with some of our friends that Jim grew up with and their two girls. This gave us some time to unpack boxes and shop for exciting things like drawer organizers and shower rods.

We've still got LOTS to do but we're getting there. Sorry there are no pictures... I will post as soon as I have a free minute to upload from my camera. Til then!

chunky monkey

I was changing Baby Sisters diaper this morning at 6am. It was dark... I grabbed what I thought was her diaper. Turns out it was one of Maddie's. Let's just say... it wasn't THAT big on her. She actually wore it with no problems.

Who's taking bets in when Caroline will outgrow her sister?

happy 2010

Hey ya'll!

Lots going on here in the Herndon household. Packing up to move to North Carolina this week. We're saying our sad good-byes to Atlanta and all of our amazing friends. We're so happy to be out of the apartment, though it served us well, and into our new house!

We had a relaxing New Years Eve with the Howards. I dont have any pictures of the occasion but we had a great time with little Rebecca and Grace. They're 16 months old and as cute as can be. Its been a COLD week here and we even had snow!!! Maddie's school was closed for a day and the roads are still a little icy in patches.

The girls are wonderful. I can't believe Caroline will be 3 months old this week! Can you? She's beautiful just like her big sister. She's not quite as good of a sleeper as her sister was, but Im hoping that gets better soon. Madelyn is cuter than ever. She absolutely loves school and talks about her teachers Ms Michelle and Ms Maliha almost every day when she's not at school. She sings constantly, knows her colors and can count to 14. After 14 she says "yellow-teen" so we're still working on that.

We'll be around for a few more days until the movers come and we head up to North Carolina on Thursday. Im not sure what our internet access will be like but I'll post as soon as I can! Wish us luck and pray we make it through the week with our sanity!
