the park and preparing for the feast
Maddie has her Nana and Pop Pops in town this week and we're having a blast with them! We took them to the park yesterday to show them one of our favorite places. It was COLD but we managed to have some fun.

Showing Pop Pops what mulch is
Beep beep! Out of my way!
Peek a boo!

Swings!
The Thanksgiving dinner preparations have begun here. Woo hoo! Apple pie- check. Cranberry relish- check. Stuffing - check. Daddy's 7-Up Salad - check. Yum yum. This is our third year hosting Thanksgiving at our house and we're getting the hang of it now. It also helps having Nana here to do most of the cooking- HA! ;)
We're off to the Flying Biscuit for lunch. Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone!

little germie
Ahh... the cold/flu season is officially here and Maddie decided to welcome it in with her own little cold. She's drippy, coughy, sneezy, wheezy and just generally cranky. Oh... and fever-y. I'm home with her today which makes life interesting for me since I have a big deadline on Friday (Nana and Pop-Pops... can you come tonight instead of Saturday? Thanks.). We went to dr yesterday pm (they get nervous when I tell them she's wheezing since she spent most of last winter with RSV) and she was generally ok but they did put her back on albuterol. They did weigh her and she finally broke the 20lb mark and is 20 lbs 10oz. woo hoo!
Don't worry Mom and Laura... I'm taking good care of her and she'll be better in no time.

a weekend of family fun
What a lovely weekend we had! We had two of Jims aunts and his cousin come into town and just had a wonderful time. We crammed in a lot of fun into two days! We showed them around town, took them to downtown and the aquarium, showed them the amazing local farmers market and just did the things that we enjoy doing around here. Maddie just loved Carol, Jack and Rita. She's going to be disappointed when she wakes up tomorrow morning and they're not here! We hope they come back and visit really soon!

my own handy jimmy
You all know how Maddie LOVES books... well, we were in desperate need for a real bookshelf.
And look what Daddy made for her? Isnt it nice? He did a great job.
Its already been moved into her room and loaded up with books. So Maddie told me to tell you all... SEND MORE BOOKS!

a beautiful day with the babe
The weather is absolutely perfect today and as you can see... Maddie was itchin' to go outside and enjoy it.
Yes, she can walk herself right up to the screen door, open it and let herself out. Yes, its scary. Its not like we leave her alone and we're scared she'll escape - but this literally happens in seconds! No more leaving the screen door unlocked!
Maddie had a great time playing in the backyard. We really havent been able to enjoy the yard because of the mosquitos all summer - so I think we'll start spending a lot more time out there now that they're gone.

After lunch - Maddie, Tucker and I decided to go to our awesome neighborhood park. Its right down the road from us AND has a coffee shop about two doors down (bonus for mommy). The park is great because its stocked with big riding toys that we don't have so Maddie gets to stretch her legs and scoot around.

Yep, here's Tuck waiting patiently for us. And yep, there's my ice coffee...

There were lots of other kids there that Maddie was fascinated with. She sat in that little car watching Tallulah and Olive play (Im not kidding, those were their names. We also met Amelie and Brody. You'd think we live in Hollywood with these names. We would have probably met Apple and Honor if we'd stayed longer).

And she loved the swings. You can tell by her face.

And the last thing we played on was the slide. I cant believe it but she goes right down it no problem. No fear at all!
She fell asleep on the walk home and is still asleep almost 2 hours later! I guess the park really wore her out!
We're very excited for the weekend. We're hoping maybe Daddy won't have to work (fingers crossed) and we can have some blog-worthy fun. No go out and enjoy the rest of the day!
