valentines fun

A few cute pictures from Carolines classroom Valentines Day Party. She is the only girl with five other boys in her class, so she had lots of valentines.  Caroline gave all of her friends Spiderman Valentines... her favorite!

Here she is with Josiah (they all call him Jo Jo), and her BFF Blakey.

Blakey, Grady (and his mom) and Rudra.

One of my favorites.. Blakey. I love this kid.

Blakey and Caroline. They really are BFFs.  Blakey gets up from whatever he's doing every morning when she comes in and gives her a big hug. Its really sweet.

And here is Maddie carrying out her and Carolines loot in their special boxes. Valentines was so much fun!

time it is a flyin

Wow - how is it February already?  Time is just going by way too fast these days.  I can barely keep up.

We just had a wonderful visit with Auntie Jen Jen and Cousin Taylor and I wanted to post a picture of their visit before too long.  It was so nice to have them in town.  Caroline and Maddie are still talking about them and asking when they'll be back.  Come back soon girls!

In other news, the Herndons are just cruising through this winter.  Maddie and Caroline are doing really well in school. Carolines in the Trailblazers class and is the only girl!  She doesn't seem to mind, and seems to have a new affinity towards Spiderman. She says, "Maddie likes Princesses and I like Spiderman!" Its pretty cute. She is talking so much, and in complete thoughts and sentences.  She also is loving her new nickname "Cricket" given to her by Nana and Pop Pops.  She'll tell you, "I Cricket" She's also way on her way to being potty trained. She goes on the potty all day long at school but is still mostly in the diaper at home.  She's not quite 2 1/2, so this is great!  The sooner we can get that stinky diaper genie out the house for me, the better!

Maddie's been busy with playdates and birthday parties. Her best friends at school are Sydni, Mackenzie, Prisha and Kyra.  She refuses to wear jeans and prefers to wear dresses every day.  I used to be able to bargain with her to wear jeans... not any more.  Jeans have been banished from her dresser.  She also told me she no longer wants to wear two ponytails, only one. Because two is cute and one is pretty. Lord help me. This is already starting! Ugh.  At least Caroline still lets me dress her for now!

Thats all for now! More soon (I hope!).

birthday time!

We got to celebrate Grammie's birthday with her at our house on New Years Eve! It was a lot of fun and a very yummy meal!

The girls never pass up an opportunity to blow out candles and eat cake!!!  Happy Birthday Grammie!

is it too late to see some christmas pictures?

Is is really January and I haven't posted all our Christmas pictures yet?  Im sorry blog fans... I have no excuse - just the usual.  Work, kids, fun... etc etc.   I'll just do a quick recap and hopefully highlight our best memories.  Aunt Laura (aka, Lolo or Ola) came to visit for a few days before Christmas and as usual, we had a blast with her. We made Christmas Cookies and Gingerbread Houses and enjoyed every minute with her.

We went to the Childrens Christmas Eve Service at Apex UMC and then to Grammie and Grandads house for dinner after.  Here's our best family shot.  Its getting harder and harder every year... but at least we match, right?
Christmas morning was a TON of fun!  Santa was good to everyone... even Daddy. Here he is pointing out to the girls Coach K on the cover of SI. Important stuff here.
Santa brought Maddie the Princess Castle, and Caroline a mousey castle. Santa also brought Caroline some blue balloons since all she ever asked for is "blue."
Caroline loved her Cinderella baby from Nana and Pop Pops.
 Madeline bag from Laura...
 And apron from Jen Jen...
Umm ... and some one has found her calling...
That evening we had a wonderful dinner and Grammie and Grandad and Aunt Susan to finish off the day.
Another successful holiday on the books. Thanks to everyone who sent wonderful gifts! We really appreciate them all!

merry christmas to all!

We hope everyone had a happy Christmas!

Here are a few pictures of the girls last week before going to see Santa.

We were all (including a certain 2 year old) very excited to see the big man.  We all decided we'd sit on his lap and tell him when we wanted... no tears.  We got to the mall as soon as Santa arrived (along with about 100 other people who also had the same idea) and waited about an hour to see him.  The girls were great.  Very patient and in good spirits (as seen below).
All was well til it got to our turn.  Maddie was great, she went right up to Santa and sat on his lap, but Caroline wanted nothing to do with him. This was as close as she got.
So this year our Santa picture is minus one kid, but its okay... he still got Caroline what she asked for which was "blue." Somehow he still knew!

decorating the tree, caroline style

The tree was decorated Caroline style this year... which means all of the ornaments in one place... about one foot off the ground.  So cute.

Christmas, Apex Style

Long time no blog, once again.   Its been an extremely busy few months and we're getting ready for Santa's visit in just a few days!  Thought Id post a few pictures from the us watching the Apex Christmas Parade on Ma Herndons porch.
This is our second year doing this now and we hope to make it a tradition!  The Bentleys joined us...

And Joe and Heather did too!
So much fun! More posts soon!

let's try this again...

Been having some major photo posting issues with blogger lately.  I think the only solution is to repost all of the pictures that I posted which ... is going to take me some time.  My free time is limited - so deleting and reposting old posts is not exactly high on my priorities list lately but Im going try.  This is how much I love my loyal blog readers.

In the meantime, I'll leave you with some super cute pictures from our trip to the beach a few weeks ago.  Oh how I love the beach.
