strawberry time!
It's strawberry picking time already in NC and we took advantage of the beautiful sunny weather on Friday to do some picking!
Caroline had no interest in picking strawberries... but certainly liked to eat them.
Fun fun fun!!!
Caroline was a little nervous at first. Not that I can blame her, imagine how big he looked to her! He was a sweety and was very very gentle.
Maddie on the other hand wasnt nervous at all. She absolutely loved petting and touching the feeding them.
We've made strawberry gelato, strawberry bread, strawberry muffins and of course eaten lots of berries by themselves. We're just about strawberried out! The poor girls haven't complained though.

After we picked a few buckets full, we went to pet and feed the beautiful horses at the farm. They stood right up against the fence and were loving being fed.

family dinner
We had a quick visit with Cousin Lilly and Aunt Sarah this weekend! Its always fun to see them and the girls have so much fun together. Here's a quick shot at one of our favorite spots... Sweet Tomatoes.
caroline goes to the dentist
Caroline had her very first trip to the dentist this week and she was an absolute rockstar. Im not going to lie... I was nervous. The girl drinks a LOT of juice... and hates brushing her teeth. That combination alone is enough to make a mom nervous but on top of that, Ive been hearing that tons of little kids are having cavities these days. 2 and 3 year olds with 2 or more cavities at a time! The gummy vitamins and all the High Fructose Corn Syrup that is everywhere is reaking havoc on our kids teeth... Anywhoo... I was worried about her.
She did great!
She was happy and friendly to all the hygienists and won everyone over. She loved wearing the cool zebra glasses and did everything the hygienist asked. It definitely helped that she was watching Rapunzel on the cool TV screen above her head.
She even held the little bowl of toothpaste on her hand while the lady brushed.
And the best news of all - NO CAVITIES! The dentist said her teeth looked great and to keep doing what we're doing. Phew! I guess the brushing we were doing was enough. Sometimes fighting a two year old with a toothbrush and toothpaste every night just seems like a losing battle... but i guess we won this won.
She's definitely been easing off the juice in the last month or so and has been asking for milk more often. This makes me happy. Let's hope we keep heading in that direction!
Great job my sweet Caroline!!!

easter best
The girls looked sweet in their Easter Dresses. I loved the matching coats... adorable. I know they won't want to be dressed the same much longer, so I need to take advantage of it while they do!
By the way, they're getting harder and harder to take pictures of! Getting them both to look at the camera and smile at the same time is a challenge!
The pictures still turn out cute, just a little more "candid."
The girls really enjoyed the day and all of their egg hunting adventures. We haven't made a dent in the candy and I have a feeling we'll be throwing most of it away in the near future. Oh well... the hunt was the best part!

We had a great time at church, and then we went to Grammie's and Grandad's for another egg hunt and yummy lunch.

the easter bunny leaves us eggs!
What a beautiful Easter it was! Absolutely gorgeous day here in North Carolina and we enjoyed every second of it.
The girls were up nice and early to find the easter bunny had not only left them baskets of goodies... but had left eggs all around the yard!
It was a bit chilly outside at 7am... but the girls sucked it up and got out there. Caroline's ready to rock and roll...
They went all around the front and back yards. Stopping a few times to get a jacket, then gloves.
Jim and I were laughing at how much we had to coax them to get out there and get all the eggs.
When all was said and done, they both did great. Love this picture below... and dont worry... she got plenty of eggs.
See! She had just as many as Maddie and more candy than she will ever be able to eat!
Pictures of easter dresses coming soon!

the trailblazers hunt some eggs!
Both of the girls had an egg hunt this week at their school. I wasn't able to go Maddie's but was able to see Caroline's and take some pictures to capture the super cute event! I got there a few minutes early and helped Caroline get ready.
The bunny had left eggs outside on the playground and according to the kids he, "made a big mess!" They waited patiently by the door until it was time! Caroline thought it was a good idea to keep her basket around her next for easy access.
And off they go! Caroline wasn't really into it at first, so I had to take this picture of Blakey who clearly understood just how exciting collecting eggs was!
Caroline took it slow and steady. It was a good thing all her friends were as slow as she was or there wouldn't have been any eggs left by the time she decided to participate.
I did my best to not be one of those obnoxious parents screaming at their kids on the sidelines... but come on kid! I needed some good pictures! :)
Score!
She ended up doing pretty well. Got lots of yummy chocolate and stickers and bubbles!
She and Blakey found eachother and compared their loot. Blakey saw that Caroline didnt have any M&Ms and gave her a bag of his. Have I mentioned he's the cutest little guy on the planet? He is. He says Caroline (or Ya-yine as he calls her) is his girlfriend.
Smiles smiles smiles all around! This girl had a good time.

are you ready for easter?
Round one of the egg hunting began yesterday at Goddard School where Maddie's class got to hunt eggs that the easter bunny left on their playground and Caroline and her class have their hunt today. The girls colored eggs with Grammie and Grandad and ate Massa with the hard boiled egg in it from Nana and Pop Pops! More egg hunting and fun to come!
