nc state fair

The fair was in town a few weeks ago and we were so excited to go! Maddie had been talking about all the animals we would see and that she would FINALLY be able to ride a horsey. We chose a day where the weather was absolutely perfect and went early enough that the crowds weren't too bad.

We sucked it up and bought a few tickets for rides. Maddie and I went on the slide a few years ago so we decided to do it again. The girl was not scared one bit to climb up these rickety stairs up to the top and FLY down the slide. SHe's scared of so many other things... I don't get it.

We did a little fishing. Maddie caught a few fish and won a spiky purple ball.

Next up... HORSEY RIDE!!! Woo hoo!! SHe was SO happy and so proud of herself. Of course, she named him "Bullseye."

My favorite part? The baby animals.

It doesn't get much cuter than this.

We saw some large and sort of scary turkeys. I love their faces in this picture.

We met some celebrities. For those of you who don't know... this is Wyatt aka Super Reader.

We met some police officers who made Maddie an Honorary Sheriff.

And lastly, the old Apex Lions Club booth. Yummy country ham biscuits.

All in all, an awesome time. Can't wait for next year!
