speaking of firsts...

Speaking of firsts... Maddie went to her very first birthday party and it was Carters first birthday! We had so much fun. Carter is in Maddie's class and Carters parents happen to be very good friends of ours. We felt so honored to be invited!

Here's the man of the hour. Look at this saddle shoes... does it get any cuter?

Opening presents is fun... especially the big big ones!

If there's one thing we know, these boys love eachother.

Now its cake time. He seems happy doesn't he? The calm before the storm...

What am I doing here? Why is everyone staring at me? I have a feeling Im not going to like what ever is about to happen next...

Hmmm... this is weird. I thought Im not SUPPOSED to get messy.

Hmm... this isnt so bad, but there's an awful lot of pressure to do something with this cake. Id prefer to just look at it. And Im not sure what you mean by "smash cake."

AND.... Im done. Get. me. out. of. here. It's my party... you can finish the rest.

Maddie prefered to watch from a distance. Here she is with Daddy watching the festivities. In the spirit of firsts- she wanted to wear her very first pair of Osh Gosh B'Gosh overalls to the party. Not a very good picture of them but you get the idea.

So we had a great time. I hope Carter is enjoying all his new toys and books and we can't wait for Carter (and the rest of the crew) to join us for Maddie's 1st.
