the princess race
Almost forgot to post about the race! I did my 4th Disney Princess Half Marathon while we were there. As always, it was tons of fun. The crowds were a bit out of contol this year, but luckily I was in Corral A (the first of 8-9 corrals) so I was off and running (literally) first and didnt have to dodge too many walkers.
My friend Ellen ran it again with me this year. We both wore super cute princess outfits... she was Sleeping Beauty and I was Belle! So much fun. At least 80% of the runners dress up for this race, so its almost ESSENTIAL you do a little something special for this one.
The weather was hot and sticky. It was 68 at 5am with 100% humidity. A little crazy, yes. BUT, this is a fun run so there is literally no pushing yourself to extremes. I stopped for water or powerade at every stop (which I almost never do... no need for water before about mile 8 if you trained) and made sure I kept hydrated. I felt great when I finished.
Like I said, the crowds were a little insane this year. Will I do it again? Not sure. Im eyeing doing my first full marathon at Disney in January (the Disneyworld Marathon) so if I do, Im not sure if I can afford to get back down there 6 weeks later for this race... but you never know. Im a sucker for tradition.. and princesses!
A dream is a wish!

Ellen and I before the race. You dont want to know what time in the morning it is.
My first character stop before the castle (mile 6) ... Belle!
My annual picture with Tiana and Naveed
Capt Jack around mile 9. He was awesome.
Me literally running by. HA!
I definitely had the cutest cheering section
We're done! #4 in the books.

Happiest place on earth... 2013 version
The Herndons have once again hit Disney and are having a blast! After a long delay getting here... We finally made it and are happy to take in the warmth and sun and FUN!
Day one consisted of a fun plane ride, an even more fun trip on the magical express from the airport to Disneyworld and then the afternoon and evening at Magic Kingdom.
Unfortunately we got to the park right at peak heat and crowd time (it was in the 80s!) so we decided to take it easy and just take in a few rides and new sites.
We were able to do the teacups (always a fun classic), its a small world, Aladdins magic carpets, the jungle cruise, and the train around the park before dinner. We ate outside at Pinocchio's Restaurant overlooking the beautiful carousel and Cinderellase castle while the sun was setting and it was such a beautiful site. After dinner we got a great spot for the electrical parade and the girls we just both in awe of what they saw. Maddie in particular loved waving to Alice in Wonderland, the princesses and even Captain Hook and having them wave back to her. Sheer joy.
We're only a half day in and I'm just so glad we came. Can't wait for tomorrow!

boosterthon fun!
Maddie's school had a boosterthon fun run to raise money for the school.
They all did such a great job and it was a lot of fun to watch! I was really surprised at how well Maddie ran and how she didnt want to stop and take breaks like the other kids did. I cant wait for her to run with me! :)
There she goes!
There she is cheering Gustavo along telling him... come on!

Quick trip to New England
Mommy had a business trip in Providence and so Caroline and mommy had a really fun trip visiting Nana, pop pops and the Marshall's! Mommy went to work while NAna and Pop Pops spent the day with little Caroline.
She had a blast being an only child for a few days and loved the attention.
She got to go ice skating, see Santa and just do all sorts of fun things.

Disney on Ice... Awesome
Disney sure does know how to put on a show!! They never disappoint, that's for sure.
We took Grammie and Grandad to see Disneys Rockin Ever After and I think everyone really enjoyed it!
Maddie spent the entire first half on Grandads lap while Caroline liked being a big girl and having her own seat.
Maddies favorite part was Belle and Caroline's was Ariel... And both girls dressed like Ariel for the show. :)
