For Nana!

This picture is for Nana.

We knew she'd want to see our sweet angel in the outfit Nana bought.

SO CUTE!

a haircut and chik-a-lay!

Maddie got a big girl hair cut last week and didn't even flinch when she sat in the big chair. The last time we took her for a cut, we went to snip-its (complete with lollipops, DVDs and free prizes at the end) and she cried and screamed the entire time. This time... she loved looking at herself in the mirror and sat like a statue!

You just never know what you're going to get at this stage!

As a special treat, Mommy and Maddie went to "chikalay" and had a special lunch. Here she is dipping everything in her polynesian sauce... including her mandarin oranges. ew.

Cookies for Santa

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas everyone! We had such a great Christmas! Maddie and Caroline were completely spoiled by Santa and family and we were so happy to spend the day with Uncle Jody and Aunt Laura. We're sad that we missed spending time with Nana and Pop Pops for Christmas but we're so glad Pop Pops is feeling better after his emergency hip surgery and Nana is finally sounding healthy as well.

We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday!

caroline's day

Want to know what Caroline (13.5 months) did today at school?

"We chased bubbles to strengthen our leg muscles."

"We glued fake snow to paper to express our creative side."

"We gave our friends hugs to practice our social skills."

"We practiced throwing away our trash to develep self-help skills."

Cute.

tree time

You'll all sleep well tonight knowing we DID get a few great Christmas Card photos of the girls... as soon as I get them sent out, I'll post a pic for you.

Well, its been COOOOLLLLD around these parts lately, but we all bundled up and set out on an adventure to get the Herndon family Christmas tree. Lucky for us, there is a tree stand about every half mile around here so we didn't have to go too far.

Maddie wasn't as interested in choosing a tree as we had hoped she'd be. She was much more excited about the huge pile of leaves she found.

Its a good thing she was there to catch the tree as it was falling...

Just kidding folks, we're not sure what she was doing here but it was cracking us up. She stood like that for awhile pretending to hold up the tree for us. And by FAR the best part of this whole experience for her was getting to ride in the front seat of grandads truck. She said she LOVED riding in his truck. She smiled like this the entire time.

And this is for you Jen - yes, this is the real name.

Tree trimming pics to come!

christmas card photo attempt #4

This one is perhaps the best one.

Jim was so proud of this picture (he took it while I was out). From the viewfinder in the camera... he thought both Caroline and Maddie were smiling AND looking at the camera (and notice he dressed them in coordinating outfits).
